A Bastille Day in Hell
Happy Bastille Day! Although I have been ill most of the day, I did get up nice and early and storm the local prison, freeing all those held by an oppressive and tyrannous government.
Tim and I have just been watching a documentary on Evelyn Nesbit Thaw, Harry Thaw - her crazy-ass husband, and Stanford White - her lover. Here's how the funny bit went down.
DOCUMENTARY NARRATOR: After pressuring Evelyn for the truth about her relationship with White, she told Thaw that White had drugged her, alleging that she lost her virginity while unconscious. Thaw said, A sixteen-year-old girl! A sixteen-year-old girl! Damn him! Damn him to hell!
TIM: Well, of course hell! What else could there possibly be? Damn him to Macys? Damn him to an uncomfortably warm spring?
GINA: [Insert uncontrollably giggling here.]
Hee, hee, hee! I love Bastille Day!
